The 2019 National Veterans Golden Age Games

The 2019 National Veterans Golden Age Games (NVGAG) will take place June 5-10, 2019 in Anchorage, Alaska. Open to veterans ages 55 and older who receive health care from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the NVGAG is the country’s premier senior adaptive rehabilitation program.

The National Veterans Golden Age Games
The National Veterans Golden Age Games (NVGAG) is an annual event and is one of the most adaptive and progressive rehabilitative senior sports programs in the world. The first NVGAG was held in Albany, Georgia in 1985 and included 115 competitors. This year’s competition includes nearly 800 competitors spanning eight age categories and including Veterans who are visually impaired and who use a wheelchair.
Competitive events include:
- Air pistol
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Blind disc golf
- Bowling
- Boccia
- Cycling
- Golf
- Horseshoes
- Nine-ball
- Pickleball
- Power-walking
- Shuffleboard
- Swimming
- Table tennis
- Track and field
“We encourage every veteran to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle and this annual event encourages participants to make physical activity a central part of their lives,” says VA Secretary Robert Wilkie.
“The National Veterans Golden Age Games is a VA rehabilitation event for our senior veterans who have dedicated themselves to remaining active, healthy, and living the Games’ motto – ‘Fitness for Life.’”
The Golden Age Games provide senior veterans with the opportunity to engage in recreational competition and rehabilitating sports while also encouraging community involvement.

You should mention where, in Anchorage, this is taking place. A lot of people indicate a specific location by using a street address of some sort.
Veteran should be able to choose more events
or less, instead of being forced into doing event may not want or forced out of events they do want
