I'm happy to report that mom's first payment (for July 2017) was deposited in her account on June 30th. I was so relieved that this whole application process, which was 8 1/2 months long and it's about 9 1/2 months until the first deposit, that I almost started crying! This has been a very long, emotionally draining process. It's actually a weird feeling not to think that I have to still "do" something to document something else for them. The next step is the fiduciary process. I did have mom sign the Support Letter, and in it I used both the statement that we were not contesting her non-competence status AND a request that her additional money not be held up due to "hardship". We'll see whether that helps speed things along for her back money due. Thanks again to everyone for all of your help! Hang in there and be persistent. That's what pays off in the end.
