Hello

I applied for A & A just over a year ago for my husband.    We had the physical exam about 3-4  weeks ago.  Last week I called them they said a decision was made and it is now in the athorization dept.

WELL, someone called me from the authorization dept a couple days ago. He was very nice and helpful.  He had a problem with ME not my husband the Veteran.  However, the problem is resolved.    I am Canadian, and do not have a SS #, I have and individaul taxpayer identification #.     I clarified this, I faxed the letter from the irs with this itin#,  as well as there is an explanation on the letter explaining that   I can NOT get social security which is what the authorization guy was specifically was looking to confirm.  He needed to make sure I was not getting SS benefits.

He was so nice working with me over the phone and fax.. we resolved the problem within 15 minutes.   weehhhoo.    I was so scared that they were going to use it as a stall tactic.

He still wouldn't tell me if my husband has been accepted or not.  He said that something would be out in the mail by the end of next week.   I teased him a bit and asked if the decision  started with a vowel or consantent (sp)  he had a good laugh but still wouldn't tell me.  Oh please please let him  be approved.

Hurry up and wait a bit longer... as long as the answer is yes, I can wait. lol...

hugs and thanks for all the support
Anne

Anne,

We hope to hear good news back from you soon.  Hurry up and wait does seem to be the name of the "game".  Glad you got someone helpful and willing to work with you.

if the authorizer called you, got the info, then the claim needs to be reworked then sent back to authorization. once that is reviewed then you will get your decsion letter. from what you are saying it might be a week or 2 before you see a letter. and that is just because of the holiday. good luck.
