My husband had his medical physical exam about 2 weeks agol  I called the claims number this morning. They told me a decision has been made and now it goes to the authorizer person to make sure the decision is right, then they will tell us.  They could not tell me how long "this"  process will take nor what the decision is.  They would not or could not give me a nmber to the authorizer dept.   My husband has been waiting over a year already.   It is frustrating, but, I guess we are near the end.

Is there no way of finding out now?

I pray the decision is in his favor.
thank you, Anne

Anne,

Just like the rest of the process, you have to wait. You should hear something within the next 30 days.  If you don't, you should call and make an inquiry.

You are in our prayers for a decision soon.

Anne... I was told this also.. that the file had gone into authorization.. that was on
10-23-09. The VA service rep told me to expect a letter in about 10 days. Sure enough, within 10 days (11-2-09) we had the authorization (award) letter- about 9 pages.

In that letter we were told to expect the retro payment within 15 days. The check arrived 11-11-09.

So... hold on... it sounds like it is coming through for you.. I hope this helps ease your anxiety a litte.

Please keep us posted!

thank you  for your replies.  Hurry up and wait, you would think I would be used to it considering how long we have waited so far... lol

I sure hope and pray the decision is in my husband 's favour.

MJ, what a special gift that was on Veterans Day for you and your loved one.   Thank you for sharing.

hugs Anne
