???DOES THIS SOUND FAIR? MY FRIENDS HUSBAND BATTLED WITH CANCER FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND PASSED AWAY AT TOGUS HOSPITAL. BECAUSE HE DIED AT A MILITARY HOSPITAL, SHE IS ENTITLED TO $1100 A MONTH AND FREE MEDICAL.. MY HUSBAND DIED OF A MASSIVE HEART ATTACK AND DIED WHILE AT A STORE. BECAUSE HE DIDN'T PLAN AHEAD, AND DRAG HIMSELF TO A MILITARY HOSPITAL I AM ENTITLED TO NOTHING! i AM 62 AND HAVE TO WORK FULL TIME AND AM BARELY MAKING ENDS MEET... I THINK THIS IS REDICULOUS BUT THEY SAY I AM ENTITLED TO NOTHING.. IS THIS CORRECT??

the other guy  was probably service connected for his issue. thats why she gets the $$ as the widow. sounds like she gets DIc.

your husband prob was not service connected for his issue. not ent to dic prob. also your income is prob over limit for pension. so, in a way it is fair.

VA money is not paid out "just because" VA wants to give free money away.  these programs are set by law.  there are certian criteria that make these benefits payable to certain people.  it may not be fair that your husband passed away. but he just did not qualify for the VA benefits.

hang in there. i am sorry to hear your loss.
