My mom receives a monthy retirement annuity from my father (now deceased).  Can you receive the A&A benefit in addition to this?  I thought I understood it, but reread a lot of the info last night and now am not so sure.  Is it something like the least amount of the two ?

If it is a retirement annuity from the military, it sould be considered as any other type of retirement.  I think some people are getting the issue of service-connected compensation and military retirement confused with the pension program.  To try and explain the difference would take a lot more time and space then can be provided on this forum.

If she is receiving a retirment annunity from the military, she should file for the pension with A&A if all other requirements are met.  If you have a specific question that this does not cover please let us know and we will try to find an answer for you.
